Tomies wood itself is beautiful, one of Europe's last natural jungles, part of the Killarney National Park and you feel as if you are in a Lord of the Rings movie... but unfortunately, sole access via land is through a privately owned farm whose owners...More

After reading reviews and hearing about the beauty of these woods. So a few days ago I tried to go but unfortunately the access to the trail passes through a landowner's property and they have closed the right of way. Very disappointing.

My cabdriver recommended it and it sounded so worthwhile doing even in January. The vistas are amazingly beautiful and the ancient oak wood otherworldly. There's a trail walk for about ninety minutes too.

This is a primordial experience, an ancient indigenous woodland setting in an amazing landscape, a good long walk with the added bonus of O Sullivan's falls to visit in the middle of it.

A view that simply takes your breath away whether rain or shine. Walk, bike or hike at your own pace, great for family nature outings.

I have done this walk numerous times and it is absolutely beautiful particularly at this time of year. However, on this occasion we were confronted by the farmer and were told that we could not walk through his land which is a path only a...More
