This church is off the beaten track, through town over the bridge and it opens up with large grounds around it. If you like your history check it out!!

We found this by accident as it isn't on the medieval mile or necessarily one of the highly sought after attractions. Also, by comparison it is quite new, as it was built during the 1800's. Regardless, it is well worth the stop and is attached...More

With so many stunning churches to visit in Kilkenny you might as well visit St. John. It's free to get in and the architecture is excellent.

We visit this church by mistake, because we thought it was the cathedral. Anyway, we went inside and took a look and it is an average church, nothing exciting. It is not ugly, and maybe it worth the time to visit.

Right outside downtown Kilkenny it's a beautiful cathedral with gorgeous stained glass on the inside. Although it's not very large, it's always open for people to go in and have a look. Definitely worth stopping in to if you're in town.
