This was a fantastic activity for our family! From Grandpa to our 8-year-old, everyone had a great time. We knew nothing about hurling when we began the day, but after a couple of hours with Colum, we were all excited about the sport! It was a damp day, and after some practice on the pitch we were all pleased to go back to the pub and enjoy the delicious included lunch. Overall a great learning experience and a lot of fun!

Being from the deise and after a lot of defeats to the Cats. We decided if you can’t beat them join. Great day out from start to finish with our hurling coach Tomas
Met a new American friend Dave McGrath and after our coaching session in O Loughlin Gaels pitch went back to a hearty Fish and chips. 100 percent recommend

Colum Was amazing and patient with us as we learned the game of hurling. His passion for the sport was unbelievable, and he pass it onto us so much that we went and bought our own hurlers!! Seeing how much the town loves the sport of hurling me to even that much better of an experience.

This was a highlight of our trip, for sure! It was the last full day of our trip and our teens were over the parade of castles, hikes, ruins, and abbeys we'd visited prior. This was a wonderful way to engage them in something fun and physical. Both adults and teens in our group of 8 had a great time, we would absolutely do it again.

Andrew was our guide and he was patient, engaging, and brought us through a progression of skill-building that had us all feeling some level of accomplishment by the end. And there was a meal at the pub afterward with hurling showing on the most gigantic tv screen I've ever seen. Cannot possibly stress enough how fun this experience was - do it!

Had a great time playing Hurling in Kilkenny. What a nice sport! And Andrew make it very fun and interesting! We watched a short and funny movie, walked to the pitch, got the rules and played away!! Definitely recommended!

My husband and I signed up for the Hurling Experience knowing very little about what this experience would entail. After watching a short introduction video at the bar, Peter (our guide) walked us to the local GAA to teach our group the Hurling basics. Be warned: the walk is not a short one, but Peter filled the journey with fun facts about Hurling and Kilkenny. Once we got to the GAA we were taught basic Hurling skills and given the chance to participate in drills to practice them. Because our group was large enough, we also did a full scrimmage - which was INTENSE but really fun. I recommend wearing loose, breathable, work-out clothes for this experience. And get ready to sweat a little bit :-) Afterwards, we went back to Lanigans where Peter was tending bar that night and listened to some trad music with a very lively crowd. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are looking to do something active and unique to Ireland!

We had a wonderful time with our guide, Peter, who so clearly enjoyed the sport and wanted to share hurling with our whole group. Our session involved a mix of adults and children (mostly families), and it was an absolute blast. Everyone in our group came away a huge fan of hurling (some even wanted to continue practicing when they returned home) and the "competitions" we had as a group during our session were so much fun. It was the highlight of our time in Kilkenny!
The only downside: I wouldn't recommend purchasing the dinner afterwards, as the food wasn't excellent and there were other restaurants I would have preferred to try in Kilkenny.

We booked this tour with just a few ideas of what hurling might be. Our guide/coach Steven took us to a nearby practice field in very close proximity to Kilkenny’s hurling stadium. He taught us the basics of playing hurling as well as some interesting insights about the game itself. After our practice session we were able to go inside the stadium to get a slight feel of what it would be like on a game day. The food served after the practice at the pub was very delicious. We chose the stew as well as the pie. Definitely a must do when in Kilkenny since you can get an impression why people are being crazy about this game. It’s intense but a lot of fun.

Had a great time learning ‘The Warrior’ game of Hurling from Peter in the heartland of hurling in Kilkenny! Fun, fast, and educational.
Now we’ve picked it up on both sides of the Atlantic! 🇨🇦
