We took a short stroll around and through the Black Abbey. It’s not a waste of your time because it is really beautiful and the stained glass is marvelous.

Very nice abbey with some interesting icons inside. Old gravestones outside were discovered during renovations. Architecture is impressive.

My husband is not the "church" type of person but he really wanted to see this one because it dates back over 700 years. The stain glass inside was wonderful. The Church was dark with candles lit in a number of areas. We were impressed.

This old abbey has been very nicely restored and worth the visit to the Medieval town of Kilkenny. A center of Dominican life for centuries and part of the Medieval Mile walk in Kilkenny.

This historic building in Kilkenny is beautiful on the inside and fascinating on the outside. It has a unique history that is well worth learning about. An easy walk off the beaten path in Kilkenny.

Cromwell used it as his courthouse. Mystical atmosphere seldom experienced elsewhere. Yopu'll see the Black Friar Dominicans here.
