The castle is only open via guided tours, so you can't just wander around. Having said that, I certainly recommend the tour. Very informative, taking just the right amount of time. Well worth the small cost.

This a great tour if you're in Adare during the right time of the year. The groups are small and intimate and the scenery and history are outstanding. Our tour guide was awesome, and she made the tour outstanding.

I highly recommend taking the Heritage Center tour in Adare to Desmond Castle. Our guide, Sandra, was incredibly knowledgeable and the story of the castle is fascinating. One of the few examples of a Norman castle in Ireland. You can't gain access unless you are...More

We saw Adare Castle as we passed by on the N21 and found it intriguing. Reservations for a tour must be made at the Adare Heritage Center as they keep groups relatively small to allow a personal experience of this beautiful ruin. Our tour guide...More

An enjoyable hour tour or the Adare Castle, leaves from the information center at selected times. A short van ride over to the 13th century Norman castle. Pleasant walk around the grounds. Sandra, the guide, does an excellent narrative of the history of the castle,...More

Book the tour of this lovely well maintained ruin on the Limerick side of Adare village. It stands by the river off the main road. A perfect photo op!

We arrived October 2nd to discover that it closed to tourists in September. We had to enjoy the view from the outside, and it is very beautiful.

We bought a guide tour to this castle on 19.09.2015. The guide told very interesting facts about this castle. I still remenbmer a number of stories about people live in the middle ages. I would recommend this guide tour.
