The White House Bar on 52 O'Connell Street Limerick is one of the City's most historic establishments, the quaint Georgian building itself, dates back to the early 1800's. Through the years it has been home to poets, writers, musicians and all other artists alike and now with a new lease of life it has reopened it's doors to offer the people of Limerick a new venue right in the heart of the city center with a new breakfast and lunch menu including a wide range of Wines, Whiskeys, Vodkas, Gins and Craft Beers all served up in the uniquely charming and relaxing ambience that you can only find in The White House Bar.

We stopped in for a quick lunch as we looked around Limerick - but then we stayed. The folks who run the place were incredibly welcoming - and super-helpful for tips about getting to know the city. The food was terrific and reasonably priced. The setting is quiet and comfortable. Highly, highly recommend. We'll certainly be back.

Too many of the so-called Irish pubs are kitsch mixtures of mass- produced 'antiques' and the worst of American sports bars. This place is the opposite. It is quiet, authentic and palpably alive. The staff are genuinely friendly and knowledgeable - and witty if you get them chatting. There is an impressive collection of Irish whiskey and I was most... More

Really lovely place to get a drink and not be dogged with loud music and a rowdy crowd. Really helpful bar staff, great atmosphere and, of course, beautiful Guinness served perfectly.

Nice place. I got the feeling it was freshly modernised, yet old fashioned Irish pub at the same time. As in all of Limerick, the Guinness is consistent.

This is a nice pub. The guy that made the Bloody Mary was chatty as too there lady behind the counter. They are planning to offer lunches in the coming weeks. The pub was clean and I bet is a busy place by evening. What made the visit was meeting the staff and that's why I'm giving it a 4... More

This is a nice city centre pub - for almost six years they have had a poetry night every Wednesday night. I enjoyed taking part and heard a couple of very talented poets. A credit to all those who organise and attend the readings!
