Located at the busy traffic intersection of Market Street with Castle Street and Grattan Street Sligo you can discover a wonderful and evocative commemorative statue. Designed by the Dublin sculptor Herbert Barnes the statue is 16 feet in height, erected to commemorate the fallen of the Rebellion of 1798 the statue was unveiled fefore a crowd of several thousand people... Erected to commemorate the 1798 Rebellion, this monument is located in Sligo town. It's well preserved but easy to miss.
