We stopped at Cahir Castle on our way from Killarney to Kilkenny. It was also on our OPW Pass, which I highly recommend purchasing. It will save you time and money if you enjoy visiting historic and geological sites in Ireland. I purchased our cards...More

Dropped in one Sunday afternoon, had a lovely tour, (3 kids, 9 13 and 14), they loved it. Reasonable price for the 5 of us (family ticket). Short video production was interesting and perfectly timed. Castle well maintained and restored, not much furniture but miniature...More

We visited the castle on a cold, rainy day, but our tour guide, Geoff, made it a warm and welcoming experience. His dry wit really enlivened the tour, and the castle itself, still mostly intact, was fascinating.

Of all the castles we toured so far, this was the least impressive. Just not that interesting in comparison. Not a lot to see but they did a good job showing the history of the times and place. Stop by if your close but don't...More

The castle itself was awesome, but I highly recommend taking the 30-minute guided tour. Our tour guide was very funny, knowledgable, and entertaining. Without the tour, we would have totally missed the most interesting (and horrifying) facts about the castle and sieges.

An interesting castle, well presented. It's picturesque location in the middle of town adds immensely to its appeal. Pay parking is available immediately next door in amongst a pretty park setting from which some short walks could be taken. Views from high points around the...More
