Visited on the way from Clare to Dublin. Just a couple of mins off the motorway. Had fabulous fish and chips. The best I have had in ages. We were 7 adults and four children. All were catered for exceptionally well. All plates were cleared. Lovely seating area outside for sunny days. Ample parking. Only downside was no changing table... More

OH MY GOD! It's quite hard to find a seafood restaurant in Dublin. I know, who would have thought that a city next to the sea would have that kind of problem. Good thing that we can count on Matt to give us fresh oysters, amazing service and lovely catch of the day dishes. Highly recommend it!

I was looking for a good fish restaurant, but unfortunately a lot of Dublin restaurants offer little fish and are more meat places. Luckily I was recommended Matt the Thrasher. This was a fish culinary experience close to, if not actually achieved, perfection. Wonderful food, great service, nice sines and a good decor all added up to a wonderful diner.... More

Five of us went here for dinner. Waitress was exceptionally good, fun loving, and made for a great evening. Two of us ordered the mussels, one ordered the seafood pot, and two ordered fresh fish. Food gets an A+ for quality, freshness, and serving size. My wife and I later agreed that we could have split mussels or the seafood... More

Second time I visited this nice seafood restaurant and bar. Both times I have eaten outside. Great service and really nice fresh menu. Oysters are superb and Irish cheese board can't be beat. Both times the service was professional and attentive. Nice menu selection and a very warm charming atmosphere. Highly recommend!!

I am on a food tour of Dublin D4 at the moment. Eating out once or twice in good places a fortnight. I really enjoyed this experience. I had a salmon starter with a monkfish special for the main. The food isnt pretensious here, everything on the plate was perfectly cooked and presentation was beautiful. I will be back there... More

We had the most wonderful valentines dinner, we were served first class food and wine by the wonderful team at Matt the Thrashers. Everyone we encountered was extremely professional, helpful and courteous. To top it all off we won the evening on a Facebook competition. It was a wonderful night and I can't recommend this venue highly enough. We are... More
