We visited wexford town, enjoying the pedrestrian walkways (main street) and the shopping during our vist there was hardly anybody about, it was fun window browsing during the walk. One of the highlights was the abbey, we enjoyed walking amonsgt the ruins, definitely worth a look during a visit to wexford town.

Went there with a tour guide from the tourist centre. Very informative. Not a lot to see unless you're really into the history of the area.

This is a mixture of different influences following the invasion by Vikings and Normans.Don't be looking for the roof as it was removed by the Church of Ireland when they moved to a different part of Wexford. The 1-hour guided tour departing from An Tobar with Ray is well worth it. There is one at 11 am and the second... More

A visit on a blustery Sunday in late October was very evocative in this shell of an abbey with old gravestones and the vacant arches in gothic, Romanesque and other styles. Leaves blow on the ground as you walk on the small property, taking in views of Wexford town and the river beyond. You are near the old town wall... More

On the day we went, we were the only people on the walking tour with the guide. She was very knowledgable and had a great sense of humor. Since the afternoon was warm and sunny, this ended up being one of the highlights of our time in Wexford.

It is really disappointing to try and visit a place of interest such as this, only to find that they were not open ( it was the end of April). When I arrived, I also noticed a sign which advertised that there was only one tour per day - at 3pm.The gates were padlocked, so I had to take photographs... More

We went on the one hour guided tour and had an amazing time. The guide -Johanna -pointed out architectural features we would never have spotted and made it a fascinating hour explaining why the Abby was built, what went on and what happened. Forget 'The Da Vinci Code' and all those fictional potboilers - this is really good stuff that... More
