The Bullring in Wexford has at its centre a statue of a Pikeman of 1797 which is an iconic figure. At Christmas there is a market here which is very nice. Otherwise it is a standard town square.

On the weekend the bullring is host to a market which is worth an outing. It is also a site on the heritage trail with is historical significance being a place for bull baiting, hence its name, probaly not a stand alone attraction for most however it has its merits.

I was a bit let down by the insignificance of this little square - just as well its past has been well-documented, for, apart from the statue of the pikeman, there is little of interest to be seen today.No doubt, the square was bigger in the day when Parnell, Collins and Connolly addressed crowds here, but today no crowd of... the Bull Ring market every Friday & Saturday has a variety of stalls. There is something for everything. I get all my organic veg from Alan, my herbs, candles, flavoured salt from Aine, amazing coffee from Una and books and curios from Mary.
