I had been meaning to get to Russborough House for years and so finally last weekend i headed for Blessington. The tour of the house is well worth doing - if nothing else but to see the stunning stucco walls. I would recommend doing the...More

Lovely tour of the beautiful house and we really enjoyed the gardens, but the cafe was terrible. We were served the watery hot chocolate - it should be made with milk, did you think we wouldn’t notice? Charged 3.50 euro for each, the equivalent of...More

This was a nice and peaceful get a way from the congested city of Dublin. House was well preserved and the tour by Ann was very informative and interesting.

Russborough is better preserved, has a lot more of its contents kept in the house and on view. Go to both, take the tours but if you can only get to 1, I would go to Russborough.

The guided tour lasts almost an hour. They leave on the hour ie. at 1.00pm then 2.00pm then 3.00pm etc. The Maze needs half an hour -particularly if you have children !!
