Decided to visit to see the new extension for the first time. Impressed with the look of the outside but disapointed that the copper looked tatty and was covered in birds mess. Warm welcome from the young lady and the man at reception. Explained about the paid for temporary exhibition. Decided not to visit as I had seen the Japanese... More

This venue is in the centre of Maidstone, and there is nowhere to park close to it. A Park& Ride service used to cover this side of town, but has now been closed. There is a Park & Ride into Maidstone, but it starts at the opposite side of town, approx 8 miles away through the town centre.. There is... More

This is a lovely museum, it has a wide range of exhibits, beautiful architecture both Elizabethan and modern. My partner and i spent about 2 hours here including a cup of tea and cake in the tea room. There is a good but small dinosaur exhibit kids would enjoy. I will definitely return when they open their new ancient lives... More

We found a leaflet advertising the venue, it informed us when it was open, so we planned our visit to link with another event. When we got there and parked up, found the museum. Only to see that it was closed. The leaflet was not dated so we did not know it was out of date, and where we were... More

Brilliant free exhibition by Graham Clarke 'Now and Then' featuring his brilliant, quirky and humorous etchings and prints. Stunning Sketchbooks showing the research and background to his artwork. Particular highlights include William Shakespeare and. Kentish Countryside scenes.

I take a variety of aged children( 2-13) to the museum frequently. They all love to visit and enjoy the exhibits. We enjoy the clipboard challenge where we look for things throughout the museum and the dressing up is always a favourite

I am an art historian so I shall comment on the art collection only. The collection itself is mediocre quality and there is not much information supplied. I had a good look at the paintings shown on the ArtUK website and was surprised by the uninteresting curatorial choice for the display. I visited last time 10 years ago and it... More

What a wonderful visit! We arrived spontaneously as an afternoon activity. Our first surprise was that it was free (always a bonus when family trip is concerned) and upon further exploration we found so much on offer! Artefacts and exhibitions on a range of subject from dinosaurs to military medals. It's a shame we arrived an hour before closing but... More
