Years entertainment

Bought an annual ticket for my family to use the facilities all year round . The short track is probably the only let down as once you're on a train you don't want the journey to end

Santa experience
Dec 2019 • Family
Once again an amazing experience that the kids loved. The staff go out of their way to get the kids feeling festive . I would recommend this to everyone with young children. Well worth the money for such a memorable experience. I would also like to say how polite many of the staff are. The young woman in the elf dress at the till was lovely and very helpful. Thank you again and we will be back next year

Santa experience

Went on the train today with toddler. The staff make it, the value for money is brilliant and I’ll be going every year. Really couldn’t of been better, couldn’t recommend highly enough if you have young children

Fantastic Santa train experience
Nov 2019 • Family
We were a group of five adults two babies and a three year old. We all really enjoyed the experience. 55 minute steam train ride, long enough for kiddies as no loos on board. The wonderful staff, mainly give up their own time to provide this unique service. How wonderful to speak to so many enthusiastic people! Santa was fab and with a real beard and real wife😀 the train museum was really cool too.
We're going to make this an annual trip as long as it keeps going as it's run on a shoestring.

Halloween day out
Oct 2019 • Family
Had a fantastic spooky day out with the family. We all really enjoyed it, the staff were all very friendly and some had great costumes on for Halloween. Value for money is excellent just £23 for a family of four. Had a ride on the steam train of which you can have as many trips as you like, there was a buffet cart on the train which was also very reasonably priced. We spent a good couple of hours here and could have easily spent longer.
Well done to all the volunteers who make this such a great place to visit.

Not bad... not sure about value though?
Oct 2019 • Family
My train-mad 2 year old loved it. But, once the train and mini train (the latter lasts a matter of seconds) is done, there’s not much else. Not sure it’s worth £8 a head. Although, saying that, it’d be a lot more expensive elsewhere! Lots of potential, this place. Maybe more steam trains? The gift shop was small, but not expensive:

Our Grandson loves it here. A bit pricey to get in but as it's all volunteers who provides this service I am willing to pay .Nice little train ride & walk around the old trains kept the little guy happy for an hr or two. All staff are passionate about what they are doing & are friendly.. Worth a visit.

Great day out with a toddler who loves trains
Sep 2019
We went on a special event day, enjoyed the play park; and the train ride, although we didn’t realise there is no destination. Still, it’s a nice thing to experience.
Plenty of old trains to see and a few to walk onto, great for anyone any age who enjoys trains. All staff seemed happy too. Our two year old thought it was great.

A bit disappointed and nothing exciting
Sep 2019 • Friends
Expensive for the price and the fact that you are just 10mim in the train with no destiny. Nothing exciting.

Small but sweet
Sep 2019 • Family
For a volunteer run project I would say this place is quite good.

it is a small museum with a short line to ride along but all is well maintained and the volunteers are friendly.

£20 for a family ticket and about an hour for the visit (including 30 mins on the train). The venue is pram friendly.

The cafe serves hot pies, sandwiches and cakes....prices ok. Snacks including beers and wine are also available on the train.
