You have to pay for parking, but its a nominal amount to drink in the lovely area is worthwhile. Local events throughtout the area and small quaint villages add to the uniqueness, plenty of pubs make a day very pleasant after a walk.

the Trough of Bowland so beautiful - we are lucky to live close by and choose to travel to Lancater / Morecambe / Heysham and Garstang this route. I would recommend everyone to visit some or all of this area

We never get bored of the stunning scenery, Plenty of good walks and good hostelries. Small villages and local events throughout the summer months.

The heather is in full bloom, a soft sun sets of the hills, the grass is greener and the rivulets gurgle away. Grouse and pheasant in large quantities along the wayside. Lovely and exceptional!

Visited in August 2017, the heather was in full flower, a truly magnificent sight. The narrow road winds through the Trough of Bowland, very tranquil place.

Beautiful unspoilt countryside. Very quiet just natural beauty all round. Mist came in very quickly but still enjoyable.

Took a trip up here this afternoon. Lots to see. Small streams all over the area. Goats everywhere. The weather changed while we were there and the clouds came down very quickly and it was very eerie and just as quickly it cleared up again

On a sunny day this is one of the best places in the area to visit, there are great walks across the hills with wonderful views. The streams are also beautiful and clear, so good for a picnic nearby and overall a day out.

Memories of going with my father 45 years ago and now taking my own daughter. Just a beautiful place to walk and enjoy the natural countryside away from the concrete of the big cities. Take a picnic and go and enjoy the fresh air...and remember...More

Follow the signs from junction 33/34 for Lancaster leisure park and instead of turning into the park head up the hill under the motorway bridge and keep on that road, within ten minutes you are in gods country!
