Part of the Church of England, this lovely, small and inviting place of worship is part of Manchester's city center, which has undergone major redevelopment in recent years.

It is a nice church but surprisingly small for a city the size of Manchester. It has some interesting displays within the church and the stonework is outstanding. Just not as big as you’d expect

The Cathedral is a marvel and the inside is very beautiful. Very worth the visit. You pay a pound to take pictures, and there are deacons and other staff to provide commentary and encourage donations. The focus on money and how much it cost s...More

A beautiful building but rather hypocritical to hold a gin festival in a religious setting - water into gin perhaps! Enjoyed the evening but the place was very cold and slightly gloomy.

This was a great place in which to hold a gin tasting. The walls were very well lit and allowed us to sit and gaze up at the vaulted pillars, the carved niches and other architectural features whilst sipping our gin.

Stumbled upon the cathedral without really looking for it; not as large and impressive as other 'cathedrals,' but definitely worth a visit.

I like cathedrals. I'm not religious but I do appreciate the architecture, the care that goes into them and the way they often record the history of their area. Manchester Cathedral isn't the biggest one but it is very beautiful. The outside gargoyles are beautifully...More

Walked around inside the building for 30 minutes as the only visitor. A couple of security guards, a couple of guys assessing the renovation works ands two priests holding service without a flock. Is this because the tower is wrapped up? Strange but worth a...More

Thank you for your query. It is a Church of England Cathedral with an exciting and radical history as a church dating back centuries. We welcome visitors of all faiths and none. We also have very friendly Cathedral Guides in... More
