Its a marvellous Cathedral. The carvings are superb as is the stone work - some of which has a facade of sandstone to protect the original stone beneath though there is some of the original stone to be seen along with the masonry work done with hand tools.. Dated from the 1400's there has been recent work to preserve this... More

It is not as impressive as York, Lincoln or Gloucester, but certainly woth a visit when in Manchester. Very friendly and helpful staff is always at hand, who also provide excellent overviews of the little gems to see. There is building work going on right now, but this is inevitable and should not keep you from a visit.

Great central location - yeah, I realise the cathedral would've come first! - which makes it a convenient site. I'd expected more stained glass, but only two windows of note, albeit both modern and intensely coloured. So, not on a par with the great British or European cathedrals, but worth a look if you're in Manchester and are that way... More

The cathedral is worth visiting and located in an architecturally diverse area. Beautiful interior and exterior with centuries of history.

This cathedral, whilst not as large as many others we've seen, has the most interesting history. It has been the centre of many historical events such as gatherings and talks about ending slavery and such. The cathedral has recently been renovated and often holds a service. This place was great for a quick stop along the way.

It was amazing to walk through a cathedral that old. The modern day art junked it up quite a bit and took away from the ambiance though.

Enjoyed visits to concerts and just popping in for a few quiet moments. One of the grand buildings in Manchester with nearby parking and cafes.

A stunning church on the edge of Deansgate, it's an incredible piece of architecture inside and out. There's painstakingly carved elements around the whole building, lots of impressive stained glass windows and original sculptures. This is an absolutely amazing building - the architecture and design is breathtaking. It is smack bang in the middle of the town center and thus... More

We visited the cathedral in February 2017. Really impressive piece of local and national history. What added to the experience were the helpful guides that knew lot about the cathedral and the history of the place. Time really flew, we ended up spending an hour and half exploring the halls of the cathedral.
