Manchester Arena, managed and operated by SMG Europe, is one of the busiest venues in the world and the largest indoor arena in Europe.

Since opening in 1995, the Arena has hosted the biggest names in live entertainment including U2, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Pavarotti and the record-breaking 2010/2011 residency by local comedian Peter Kay.

In addition to live music, we've also staged some of the biggest events in the UK sporting calendar including several 2002 Commonwealth Games' events, the 2012 Olympic basketball warm-up match between team USA and GB, the 2008 FINA World Swimming Championships and international boxing bouts by Mike Tyson, David Haye, Joe Calzaghe and local champions Ricky Hatton and Amir Khan.

We've also played a key part in Manchester's rich musical heritage with historic shows by local bands Take That, Oasis, Elbow, New Order, James, Happy Mondays, The Charlatans, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, M People, Doves, The Inspiral Carpets, The Verve, Simply Red and The Courteeners.

Attracting over one million visitors each year, the 21,000 capacity Arena is a former winner of the industry's prestigious International Venue of the Year award.

The show, Rod Stewart, was exceptional and I highly recommend anyone to go and see him. Just not at the MEN A capacity of 21,000 and it takes an age to get people in and settled. Leaving is a nightmare. Old Trafford manages 80,000 with far less hassle. Loved the sign on the outside that said: No food or drink,... More

We struggled to get down the stairs in The Arena as there are no hand rails. We noticed a few people also had problems.

Mens Toliets blocked. Over priced warm beers and generally a very tired venue. Staff did not care about the disgusting conditions.

Just suffers from the same problem all large arenas do. Massive soul-less space, herded in, not cheap drinks, herded out. That's the price you have to pay these days for bands of a certain size, but even with the best bands in the world, it's still a corporate hell hole

This arena is typical of many I have been to. However I think it worth mentioning how lovely and helpful the staff are. I originally booked a normal seat but since then, due to a health condition, I needed to swap to an accessible seat. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was done with minimum fuss and I was even... More

A terrible venue that doesn't work for concerts at standing level. The only access is through the stairs of the main auditorium . It took us 30 mins to get into the main standing area, and the access to leave is equally poor. Taking the tickets off you when you go in, meant there is a fight to get the... More

Great concert but food horrendously overpriced and very poor quality. Avoid the hot dogs, better still eat somewhere else before you go!
