Beautiful and very vibrant at night which delighted us - being from Sheffield, the city centre appears to be so quiet at night in comparison. Loved the fountains.

I weren't expecting this one and come across when walking to the visitor center in the morning. It has a fountain containing 17 jets that shoots up to 4 meters and 2 jets for 6 meters. There is area for kids to play. As being...More

So over the years obviously these ' gardens' have shaped and changed. We've always had problematic people in them I doubt we will ever shift them. It's unfortunate for Manchester that these are no longer real gardens and now more of a general doss about...More

If you're traveling to Manchester for the first time I found this to be helpful to get back to and find places I wanted to get to. The square has an interesting water feature that lights up in the evening. There is a small play...More

I found Piccadilly Gardens a bit of a misnomer since a lot of buildings have encroached on these gardens leaving practically a bit of a green lawn, a couple of trees and a dancing fountain. The place is a centre for people meeting and relaxing...More

It breaks my heart to see the mess that Piccadilly Gardens has become. It needs an overhaul. The tram stop, bus stops and the open space just don't work. Was the original Gardens better? Probably.

This place used to be quite grand. As it is, they built a horrible concrete wall and iron tree, playground and fountains that feral children run through. Hold onto your wallets and don't stay unless you're going into one of the nice restaurants here. A...More

The pigeons are probably the safest and clean thing you will find here. I'd suggest a wide detour to avoid this area. Full of people asking for money, selling drugs or off their face on them. Confusing bus & tram lanes.

If you don't know Manchester this place used to be a showpiece for Manchester. A sunken Victorian formal garden with floral displays and Benches all the way round. The sort of place 0ffiice workers used to eat at lunchtime. Then....not that long ago the glorious...More

Within a few hundred metres of the "gardens" we passed piles of nitrous oxide canisters left on the pavement next to empty bottles of booze (my nephew asked what all the canisters were and I had to explain). The streets were generally horrible in terms...More
