A Brilliant Edwardian Edifice which catered for the local working class population who could hire a private bath to wash themselves and the well to do who could luxuriate in the First Class swimming pool or Turkish Baths. This pool produced the first Olympic champions who were siblings (their father was the super intendant and they lived in the 4... More

It doesn't take long to look around these stunning old baths, but totally worth a look. I was happy to pay for the privilege. These sort of places need to be fully restored. A lovely atmosphere too.

Had a fantastic day here. Travelled from Middlesbrough as we have just memories of such baths as ours were knocked down. But in Manchester there have been so carefully cared for and restored. There is a tour as your told about the history then you can look round at your leisure and take photos.

A great feature in Manchester! We attended the Vintage Fair £3 entry which was very interesting but not my taste but unfortunately did not have time for the tour. However we will return and do the tour because the building was amazing particularly the stained glass.

Lovely old building still a work in progress in terms of restoration following it's success at winning the TV "Restoration" programme in 2002. The entrance hall, turkish baths and superintendents offices are now pretty much restored, showcasing the beautiful tiles and stained glass windows that adorn the interior of the building. Guided tours available on Wednesday afternoons between April and... More

I have visited the baths on many occasions but more recently on Heritage Weekend. There are frequent tours that explain the history and restoration of the building, stunning stained glass windows and Turkish baths. If you are in the area I highly recommend checking the opening times (not a 9-5 place) to see a building that really reflects social history... More

Paid for the off-limits tour of these baths, which takes a small group into darker recesses such as the boiler room below ground. Informative and enthusiastic guide. Pleasant tea rooms staffed by volunteers. Lovely character building slowly being brought back to life by its restorers. Well worth half a day.

great events venue, as it is now. Been to the Indy Man Beer Con there a few times and it really suits the place! Faded glamour, big spaces, even the old steam rooms are now able to be used.
