This place, which in the past has been a church, is now mainly a hire venue for all sorts of celebrations, dinners and the like. We simply went there for its historic value, after reading that it is listed in the World Monuments Fund Watch List of 100 Most Endangered Sites in the World. We are not quite sure why... More

We attended an Asian pre-wedding party (mendhi) here last Friday for my nephew. I didn't realise there could be such a stunning venue in Gorton. The catering was 3rd party so we never got the chance to sample what the venue could provide. We are considering booking the main hall to renew our wedding vows on our 10th anniversary. Fantastic.

I managed to visit it with some family relatives from South America who were amused with such rich architecture! It was in construction at this time so we only saw it from outside, must come back...

I was invited here to an event as a plus one for my boyfriends Christmas party. An incredible building with lots of character and has an extremely beautiful large hall area. The only complaint would be that it was a very long walk to get anywhere. If we were in the main hall watching the band they had on and... More

We went along to the monastery to see a specific exhibition, one chronicling the history of Belle Vue, Manchester. We were greeted by very helpful and friendly volunteer, who directed us through the monastery to the exhibition. The exhibition was quite comprehensive and for us brought back many childhood memories, but given that this was our first visit, what struck... More

It's a bit out of town, but the building is impressive and the restoration means the inside is spectacular. Food was very good as are the acoustics. We had 250 people in comfortably.

We recently hired the ultimate, sensationally winning combination of The Monastery - Nancy Bennett Qube Events and Productions - Debbie Marks Celia Clyne Banqueting - Mark Clyne Manchesterdj.com - DJ Dan Carolienphotography - Carolien - and fortuitously, we definitely and absolutely couldn’t have chosen better! Atmospheric, steeped in tradition though blended with an eclectic mix of old and new! Acoustically... More

I attended the New Years eve party. I have to say I was impressed with whole evening, the decor and ambiance was excellent. We had a 5 course meal which was absolutely delicious. There was also live singing from two Broadway and West end stars which was fantastic. The night could not have been any better. Thank you
