Come and explore our 1879 Police Station! Inside we have Uniform, Crime and Transport displays as well as the station itself in which you can see the original Charge Office, Cells and an 1895 Magistrates Courtroom from Denton. Our volunteers, many of whom are retired officers will be on hand to chat to and answer any of your questions about life on the beat. The museum is open to the public on Tuesdays, but tours by appointment can be made on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays. Free entry!

Have known of this museum for years but never got around to going as only open on a Tuesday. Struck it lucky as due to staff shortages only guided tours were available. Last one was 2:30 and we arrived at 2:25 so just in time....More

Our group visited this place in September 2017. It's located in part of the old central police station. Our guide was a real character, an ex police sergeant in uniform,and his knowledge about policing and the exhibits in the museum added greatly to the visit...More

Obviously as an ex cop and friends with some of the guides I will be a little biased but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it . Handily placed on Newton Street ( for me ) as I could walk into town...More

This is well worth a visit, crammed full of memorabilia the kids can get really into it as they try on uniform and hats! Interesting quiz as you follow the tour

We took a group of thirty children aged between 3-11 years old and the absolutely loved it, our guide was fantastic asking questions getting the children very much involved, the museum itself is amazing the old cells were great and reading about all the convicts...More

The Manchester police museum is the perfect attraction for young and old it has a great amount of hands on things for the young and lots of interesting pieces of information I also enjoyed going inside the old school prison cells.
