This cathedral is the centerpiece of the Grand Isle in Strasbourg. I didn't have the chance to go inside, but did walk around it. I was there late afternoon into night. It is beautiful when the lights come on. I got the opportunity to see...More

Beautiful old Cathedral. Center of city. Lines were not bad. Be sure to be in front of clock on the 1/2 hour

Free entrance and a few-minute queue are good things to start from. The main room is filled with beautiful details. The whole cathedral was not accessible. There is an interesting astronomical clock and calendar you don't want to miss.

A fine example of Gothic architecture in the city of Strasbourg, the Cathedrale de Notre Dame is the central attraction of the city and it is indeed a beautiful and imposing structure. It has an astronomical clock inside along with the typical church architecture.

Beautiful, if you arrive around 11.30/11.45am you can pay €3 for entry and watch the video about the history of the astronomical clock before the clock starts at 12.30

Cathedral de Notre-Dame is one of most beautiful Gothic Cathedrals in Europe. There is an Astronomical clock with mechanism dates from 1842. Crowds form every day to see automated figures on parade at exactly half past midday.

Most of what you will see is inside and a small part is outside with cover for rain and wind. I've not been in December, but my son was and said it's the perfect time to go.
