Johannes Gutenberg spent time here, around 14 years. There were about 80 presses working. Printing was the technological advance of the day and Strasbourg was at the center of it all.

The central tram lines go through there, the market is nearby, lots of cafes and shopping centres are around. Remember to look up, and admire the statue of... More

Other than the carousel and statue of Gutenberg, not much to see or do in this square. If you are short on time there is plenty other ways to spend your time.

This square is situated close to the Cathedral and is a good place to start exploring the area. There are many lovely buildings to look at as well and several restaurants.

Place Gutenberg is a nice enough square in the heart of the city, some impressive architecture surrounds it. Nice to see if you happen to be passing through, but I wouldn't go out of my way to find it again.

This is a good public area to help you get oriented while exploring the medieval streets around this interesting city. I would encourage you to get 'lost' and explore each little section of this city.... ditch your map!

This square is pretty nice (even though construction was going on when we visited). The architecture is stunning and it costs nothing to have a look around. This was the starting point of our tour as this square also hosts an underground parking lot.

Great location in the middle of things, a few steps away from the Cathedral, with a few really good places to eat right there, and many within walking distance.

The main attraction is the imposing statue of Gutenberg. A beautiful carousel next to the statue was a great hit with the kids. Lots of shops and cafes to sit and have a bite. There's a flea market not very far.
