I think it is not well known museum for tourists all round the world. Only a few people were there during our visit. More historical pictures and a movie are there. Staff is very kind. They showed us a book about the history of the place. Unexpectedly we found pictures of our former queen Natalija Obrenovic. And the picture of the... More

Frankly, this museum could do with a facelift - it's a bit of a jumble, but an interesting one. It is very peaceful, shows a very good 40-minute film about Biarritz and has a large number of items set out in an old-fashioned way mostly in table-style glass-topped cases. It was good fun and, at 4 Euros, inexpensive.

We visited the Musee Historique de Biarritz which has been in the Anglican Church of St. Andrew's from the late nineteenth century filled with a rich collection of very varied documents (objects, works of art, video projections…). We were able to learn a lot about Biarritz from when it was a fishing village to a playground for the royals in... More

Arranged by enthusiasts rather than experts it has a charm although we felt we had intruded when we visited. Interesting to learn of the British connection

Take the time to cross to the historical basque museum of Bayonne. Ten times more interesting and instructive about the history of the general area. Of course, it is Basque history, not the glitzy Biarritz history. This is a small museum, run by volunteers. Worth it if you are in the immediate area.

Some interesting tidbits but would have like some kind of guide book in English. Disappointed that there weren't more photos showing Biarittz in its heyday.

Fascinating to see who visited Biarritz in the past. The collection of 1920s photographs are worth a visit on their own.

It is nice to learn about interesting facts of the city, centered mainly on the last moments of the city. I missed something related with older fishermen times.
