Encore Graffiti

Th building is quite plain outside, but lovely within - the city idiots graffiti is sprayed on outside walls. The interior is lovely and well worth an hour or more of your time.

Rennes Cathedral is very ornate with much gold in its decoration. On either side of the nave are a row of red pillars. As I prefer Gothic or Romanesque cathedrals, this is not a favourite!

This cathedral has had some building problems, so it was partly rebuilt twice. The towers and front are the oldest parts. The outside of the building in somber gray granite contrasts a lot with the rather luxurious interior. It's gold and colour everywhere, it reminded us of greek-orhodox churches. Don't forget to look up! The entire ceiling has been decorated... More

Impressive blue red and yellow stained glass window. Worth a visit without any wow factor. Fairly dark interior. Exterior is quite unusual.

You can almost miss it , passing by it in the street . The massive structure is not as impressive on the outside , But the inside is stunning ! don't miss the opening hours .

Stunning cathedral. It looks almost stern from the outside but the inside is like a jewel, with gold leaf everywhere, an enormous organ and colourful stained glass windows. We attended the 10:30 am Sunday mass and found the choir and organ music very lovely.

Saint Pierre Cathedral is the third to have been built on this site. The imposing front was completed in 1704. Beware of opening times. 9.30am to 12 noon. Then 3 pm to 6pm. You can drive past it on a cobbled road and head for parking Lices which is underground and secure and cheap. 3.70€ for 2 hours. All signposted.

The cathedral is closed for lunch until 3:00, well worth visiting. The interior is so beautiful , the exterior just gray. Take the time to drop in.

I didn't have much time to sightsee while in Rennes, but decided to visit the historical old town and cathedral. So glad I did. I expected the same old cathedral you see all over the region, but this one was different. I don't know much about the art I saw (unusually, there were none of the information stations you see...
