Not very ornate inside. It was rebuilt after WWII and reconsecrated in 1971. Parts did survive though including the 12 century nave.

Loved the visit to this cathedral. It has all the features and MORE that you expect for in a historic cathedral that is hundreds of years old. The huge organ is a must see and listen to experience.Loved the freedom that you are allowed to roam around the cathedral without prying eyes. Beautiful experience in total. Tip: doors are hard... Went there for Xmas mass, what an atmosphere with its beautiful stain glasses and newly renovated/built medieval altar. The cathedral was bombed during the 2nd World War and partially destroyed, the reconstruction took ages and the results is great

We wanted to visit to recognise the efforts made in restoring St Malo and especially its cathedral such an important focus to the town. Visit on a sunny day if only to glory in the fabulous stained glass which is truly lovely. Overall this is a most worthwhile visit and deeply moving.

We wanted to go into St. Vincent Cathedral primarily because of its mention in Doerr's book, All the Light We Cannot See. We found several surprises there, including a plaque in the floor commemorating the 1891 visit from the premier of Quebec recognizing the departure of Jacques Cartier for Canada. Also the stained glass windows are beautiful, especially on a... More

I think the most telling part of this church is the display of pictures from before and after 1944, as well as looking around how well the church was reconstructed. It's a lovely chapel, not huge but worth stopping in to see.

This is well worth a visit even though many of the original windows were blown away in the bombardment, the rose window is wonderful. Difficult to find the correct door to enter - but worth the effort.

This ancient Cathedral has been a place of worship since the dawn of Christianity. A German minesweeper blew up the steeple and casued masive damage. The cathedral still has the traditional layout but was finally restored by 1972 after 28 years of reconstruction. The modern main altar is particularly dramatic. The Great Rose window is impressive the original having been... More
