We enjoyed strolling through the gardens. We could see the potential and we're impressed with the work that went into the spring and maintaining of these exquisite gardens. The fish in the stream were interesting and we loved the swans in the top pond. This gave the whole chateau a fairy tale feel.

The date default is March 2016, but I first visited Chateau de Vilandrey in 1957. I was visiting the chateaux of the Loire Valley and Villandry was absolutely perfect...beautiful in all its glory,

The chateau and particularly the gardens at Villandry are simply awe inspiring. An absolute must if you are in the area.

This in our opinion is one of the best chateau's in France. There is plenty to see in the house but it's the gardens. They are absolutely amazing. Look closely and the small hedges are actually fruit trees that have been trained over hundreds of years and they do bear fruit

We visited 6 chateaus in our three days in the Loire Valley... the gardens at Villandry were our favorite. They are beautiful... drop-dead, stunningly beautiful. Take the time to wander through each and every part and take in the details of each plant and design. Already plotting my return!!

Very interesting chateau, with an organic restaurant, very beautiful geometric gardens. the vegetable gardens are grown by the monks and their shape reflects that.

So much to do here. We really enjoyed it all, especially the walk through the forest and the gardens. We were welcomed to the gardens by two huge swans. Just a wonderful visit. Our children loved it all, the the maze was a treat at the end.

despite the fact that the place was open at 26.12 there is of course no flowers and beauty the same like in the summer time.

Truly an amazing site. We have toured gardens all over the world, and this ranks in the top three, without doubt. The interior of the house was also wonderful--much more personal that many historic sites. You can imagine a family actually living there. Don't miss this jewel!

I visited on a chilly fall day when there were few people around and it was magical to explore this creatively manicured garden. So much to see that you could wander for hours.I love that one enters on the lower level, crosses the moat, and can walk higher and higher until the whole place is at your feet. One of... More
