This museum is right next to the one towered cathedral. Definitely worth a visit as there are some nice pieces. However, I am hard pressed to see it called a "modern" art museum. There was an abundance of 19th century work. The modern art consisted mainly of the Fauves. There was a beautiful Van Dongen painting. And some odd "copycat"... More

This was the type of art gallery I like, modernist interesting paintings but classics done by people who really could paint. Its a 20 minute walk from the centre beside the Cathedral and is only 5EUR for adults, free for children. There was so much to see that in the end we had to rush and missed the end because... More

The temporary exhibit of Dutch Moderns from the Singer collection was a pleasant discovery of Dutch painting from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. Artworks housed in the Bishop's Palace, the curators ably utilised the changing spaces. The permanent collection has a treasure trove of André Derain works. While one may not find many... More

A magnificent building in the shadow of the cathedral and many fine paintings. When they say Modern Art you don't have to be worried about paintings that are too abstract. You can easily trace the history of French art from the mid-nineteenth century to the mid -twentieth century. There are works by Gauguin, Degas, Seurat , Dufy and many other... More

The moment you tell the kids (ages 8 and 6) that you are going to the museum they groan - fortunately this is very focused on children with drawing areas and activities. Very interesting seeing the ruins and art.

Wonderful paintings, sculptures and glass in a beautifully restored building next to the St Pierre, St Paul Cathedral - so many well-known painters, but you've never seen these paintings anywhere else! Nice that it's free between Nov & March.Watch out - internet forgets to tell you it's closed 4 - 11/12 January 2016.

If your thing is Fauvist art, ethnographic sculpture and some outstanding glass works of the early 20th century this is your place. I went there twice and was thrilled both times. In addition ,the building where the collections are housed is pretty outstanding.

The collections there are worth seeing, but I really loved the building itself. It is really beautiful.
