Our Finnish-Belgian team has hiked the northern part of the Grand Randonnée in Corsica (GR 20) from 3 to 11 September 2018. I do not wish to repeat the general information of the GR 20 (available on the internet and in books). However, I wish...More

Walked just a section of the GR 20 near Monte d'Oro but it was enough to convince us of the toughness of doing the whole route. A lot spent scrambling and at times searching for the footpath markers but highly rewarding in terms of views...More

Walked the whole GR20 from North - Calenzana to Conca in the south in 14 days, the timings in Cicerone guide are fairly accurate but we measured distances much longer. As a fit experienced hiker I found it hard to imagine how it would take...More

Whatever the Ciccerone book says, treble it - this is tough, definitley tougher than anything we've ever done before, much more than Everest BC and Inca Trail, and certainly more than the other Corsican Mare Mare trails which we have also done. It's also perhaps...More

Wow. How amazing, the most breathtaking scenery with great variety; one moment up in the clouds the next trekking through Forrest and the next through wild flowers and makis. Heady scents of herbs and flower perfumes fill the air and waterfalls and natural springs are...More

We have revently done 7 days of the GR20 starting in the south. It has been an amazing and challenging trek. Nature is just mind blowing from rocky peaks and nice forest tracks. We went fully equipped with tents, cookig and foods. Learning is to...More

The walking is hard, amazing and tough. Accomodation provided by Parc Naturel de Corse is however substandard, often insanitary, overcrowded and filthy. Refuge de Carozzu was acknowledged to be infested by bedbugs and a tent was offered as alternative but without refund or prior notification. Bedbugs...More

A tougher hike than both Everest Base Camp and Inca trail and nearly as beautiful. I would say that half of it is as easy as Everest and Inca. The other half is the most interesting part were it sometimes can be really difficult. It...More

You don't need one, IMO. The route is well marked and there will be hundreds of people around. Just do a bit of research on the web and book the flights.
