This was our second visit in the past two months, we generally go when friends from Houston come to town, and I think I may have a few suggestions for those doing a day trip from Paris. But the first think to know is this...More

Compared to Versailles this is smaller, but the crowd was minimal...views of a long gallery with no other visitors! Time to read the information. Time to pause and imagine the history and the workmanship. The similarities between Napoleon and some modern president's is thought provoking....More

I came here the day after visiting Versailles. And I was not the least disappointed, I found it as wonderful as Versailles, different and unique. I had not pre-booked my ticket and getting there at 11.30ish I only had a short queue. The visit was...More

This is a place of historical significance. Just seeing the throne that Napoleon sat on was worth the visit. Definitely do the audio tour and be patient. It doesn’t always follow the signage but with a bit of looking, it made for a good experience...More

We enjoyed looking at the castle on a stormy day. It is well taken care of. Very interesting difference stiles to see. Next time I would take the audio guide. Everyone with it seemed to really enjoy it, even the younger children listened intently.

Chateau is over the top and gorgeous and historic. Didn’t wander around outside because of rain. Much less crowded than Versailles, which we visited yesterday. Biggest problem is lack of signage. We paid €3 each for audio guide, but it was all over the place...More

I came years ago and didn't have time to go inside. I had no idea what I'd missed. If you like history, art, furniture, big buildings, museums, or if you've never become acquainted with the history of French royalty and their lifestyle-- take the time...More

This is one of the chateaus used by French kings. It is under restoration but you can still visit the main rooms of the chateau. Get an audio player so you can get information on each room visited. If you have time visit the grounds.

When we visited, the Napoleon Quarters were undergoing work - so, did not take guided tour there. However, from what I can read, you can book. Just follow the link they have mentioned at the bottom of the booking page in... More
