we stumbled across this just outside Notre Dame. You learn and see about the Roman era of Paris and the original settlers of the area called Parisii.By sharing your experiences, you're helping travelers make better choices and plan their dream trips. Thank you!

This compares very favorably with the crypt in Yorkminster, England. Both feature Roman ruins, and do a great job of showing the many layers of civilization and construction on that site from very ancient times to the present. I particularly enjoyed the interactive 3-D models...More

This isn't a must stop, but what they do have here is very interesting. This was our fourth trip to Paris and we're always looking for new things to see and do. This fits the bill. You really understand how old Paris was built and...More

If you are visiting Notre-Dame then the crypt is well worth a visit. Some good ruins and artefacts are here, with a lot of information. It doesn't take long to get around but it is very interesting. I would say make sure you've got a...More

It's not mega impressive but it's worth a visit if you're going around Notre Dame Cathedral. You'll learn a lot about the port area, currency and more.

The Crypt has a couple of cool ruins from the original city borders. Couples with some cool historical facts, this is a pretty neat place to visit, though not really worth €8.

This place located right by Nothre Damme Cathedral is a trip back to Roman times! What an experience. It was not busy so we were able to enjoy all the pieces of history included in it. This is a must see! Enjoy.

I really like the whole exhibit because the restoration was well done and everything around it. Despite being underground, the air is not humid. The large posters scattered all around provide enough details about Paris without being too cumbersome to read. They even have short...More

My family and I visited the crypt today for the firzst time. This is included as part of the museum pass. The exhibit is nice and worthwhile if you have a week or more to spend in Paris.

Decided on the Crypt as no queue .. though I'm aware the Notre Dame Q moves quickly. Paid €8 for a lot of education. The crypt contains Roman Ruins discovered under a car park directly in front of the Cathedral before the whole area was...More

Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,
