La Cuisine Paris is a cooking school in the centre of Paris offering hands-on cooking classes and food tours in English. Our school is located in the heart of Paris just minutes away from Notre Dame, the Marais, and the famous Hotel de Ville.

Our classes are taught in a warm and friendly environment and are small and hands-on - we like everyone to get stuck in! Join us to learn to make beautiful macarons or buttery croissants, or to learn how to use seasonal products inspired by a French Market visit. Or spend time with us outside of the kitchen and indulge your taste buds on a food tour, from our fromage and wine workshop, to our sweet Pastry and Chocolate tour, to our historical tour of the Kings kitchen garden in Versailles, there is something for everyone.

We were 2 experienced home cooks with lots of cooking classes between us so we took the class to have fun. It did not disappoint! We loved the experience of choosing our lunch from the gorgeous market ingredients and the teacher/chef Lise, gently directed the 10 of us to the most appropriate choices to please everyone. When we got back... More

Our chef, Lise, was wonderful. She had the answers to all our questions about market etiquette and French techniques. I loved how she guided us in choosing the menu. And the other would-be French cooks were very nice. A good experience and plenty of helpful tips. Feeling a lot more comfortable about food shopping.

Don't hesitate to use La Cuisine Paris. After taking the Marais food tour 2 years ago, I signed up for the sauces technical class and the wine and cheese experience. I love to cook but still learned a tremendous amount about the right way to make sauces. A fast moving class which is all hands on. My son joined me... More

We did the market tour and cooking class with La Cuisine and could not of been happier with our decision. While it was just a cooking class at the end of the day, my wife considers it the highlight of our trip (we were in/around Paris for 9 days). The day started by meeting in a local market where our... I've been to Paris several times and on this trip decided I'd do more "experience activities" and a macaron baking class at La Cuisine was one of them. I only wish I'd known how good it was because I'd have signed up for other classes! I love macarons but do not have very strong baking skills. I figured if I... More

I'm a home cook and my husband is a non-cook who enjoys my cooking. We both love the food of Paris! We very much enjoyed our class. Chef Lise is a good teacher, knowledgeable, flexible, kind, and engaging. She taught us some knife skills and then we set to work chopping mushrooms, slicing onions, and cutting up a chicken. I... Thanks to Amber our small group walked, talked and tasted our way through Marais from the eclectic cooking store to the best cheese and meats in the city. Amber was excellent in describing both what and why we were trying the foods as she gave the history of not only the food but of the area and architecture - an... More

The class started off with a tour of the farmers market where we purchased all the ingredients we needed for our class. After we returned to the classroom the instructor explained how to cut the vegetables we just purchased for our meal we were making. This class was so interesting and our meal at the end of the class was... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
