An excellent tour of the most significant, well known cemetery in Paris. The tour guide, Becky, is a true student of history and did an amazing job. Many fascinating facts, stories, and sites that were shared. The tour was about 2 hours long which was the perfect length. It entails walking on the stone paths and trails around the cemetery to any number of famous gravesites as well as other portions of the cemetery with interesting histories of their own - case in point the last stand of the Communards took place here in 1871 as Becky showed us. Highly recommend taking the tour as while it's possible to enter the cemetery on your own and use QR codes and charts to navigate, it's much more fun and informative, not to mention relaxing, to take the tour instead.
Can't say enough good things about the guide, Becky, as she was top notch and did an expert job guiding us, piquing everyone's interest, and ensuring we had a great day.
Whether passing through, doing touristy things in Paris, or living in Paris or France in general, this is a great tour to take as it's away from the crowds in a peaceful, meaningful setting. If you decide to go, be sure to inquire if you can have Becky as your guide.
