The Champs de Mars was designed as parade grounds for the French Army and dates back to the mid 1700s. On one end, it has the Military School, at the other, the Eiffel tower. It is nicely kept with well-manicured lawns, flower beds and trees and provides ample space for visitors to stroll, have a picnic and enjoy a nice... More

View of Eiffel tower is fantastic. At night once every hour there is a light show that you must see. Area around Eiffel tower is crowded with illegal sellers and has an mix of atmosphere of ghetto and torist area. Not very relaxing.

Visit rather early , beware of the pickpockets ( they pretend to be collecting signatures for a petition and are actually after your wallet).

I've been here almost yearly for the past two decades and even though I've reviewed it before, I feel compelled to do so again after spending a wonderful afternoon there today. A great place for a stroll and a picnic and the Eiffel Tower is just beguiling, we literally couldn't take our eyes off it. Lovely atmosphere in the park... More

Best views of the Eiffel tower is from Trocadero and Champs de Mars park. Refer to my other reviews. Here you can get the classic postcard shot with the green grass and blue skies. Ladies, the floor here is sand and pebbles at some areas. Its a park afterall! You might want to reconsider not walking in sexy stiletto boots.... More

Great place to have a picnic and watch the sunset with the Tour Eiffel in the background. Loved relaxing here at the end of our exploring & watching the Tour light up every hour during the night
