This is a fabulous place to visit. Each room is dedicated to a different style and time of Pablo's life and it is very well designed and thought out. You need a fair few hours as there is much to see and do. A great museum.

This museum was an absolute surprise. It is spacious and wonderfully laid out. You get a true sense of who Picasso was from his time of birth to his death. I'm still taken aback by how beautiful and varied his artwork was/is.

I felt like this was a total waste of our time. Perhaps I don't know enough about art to appreciate what was on display, but it felt very lacking to me on so many fronts I don't know where to begin. Let's just say, seriously consider one of the other museums before committing to this one.

I love Picasso, but this wasn't quite as extensive and broad and varied a collection as I expected. It is said to have the largest Picasso collection in the world. Nevertheless, I had a great time there.

Two years ago, I attended the Picasso Museum for the first time. It had recently re-opened after a long renovation. I was delighted by the lovely mansion setting, the intimate nature of the works and a view of his personal collection. I returned in April to view the Olga exhibit and was similarly delighted. Do not expect to see the... More

Not many of his early virtuoso works from 1901 which I wanted to see. So if you are fond of the "Yo, Picasso" painting, don't expect to find similar works here. A lot of blue period and loads of cubism. Go, if that works for you. The museum is nicely situated in Marais. You can approach it from the Saint... More

We were interested in visiting this museum after visiting the Picasso museum in Barcelona. It was equally worthwhile and was not redundant. The museum itself is in a gorgeous building. There is plenty to do near the museum as well.

This is a great museum to see while visiting Marais. The building is gorgeous and well kept. Picasso's different stages can be best understood with the audio and app they offer (free of charge)

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
