Absolutely breath taking. Beautiful stained glass allowing sunlight to bounce off and lights up the sculptures. Sufficient prayer area to light candles and pray. Humbling and fulling experience.

A must see! History history history!.... gorgeous both inside and out. Can be crowded, especially if climbing to towers.

We were able to get in to Notre Dame without any wait, and were able to move freely around the cathedral ( save for the area where people were praying, etc). The stained glass and statues were were incredible. There were posters in the back...More

I had the opportunity of visiting this fantastic cathedral with my family. The cathedral is awe inspiring and it just seems incredible that such capable architects were around to design this amazing structure. Once inside, the required information is presented to visitors very efficiently. The...More

This, in my opinion, is the most beautiful cathedral in Europe. Its a must see if you're in Paris. Make some time, and just go inside, its free. Light some candles if you wish, or just be mesmerize by its sheer grandeur.

Since we have seen so many beautiful and amazing cathedrals, mainly in Italy, we were not that impressed. What we did enjoy was the historical description of the buildinand renovation that took place over the centuries. Also the wood carved panels depicting the life of...More

Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very
heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité,
sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of
Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the
site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held
before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic
Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the
Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island,

I wouldn’t bother with a tour guide, it’s quite self explanatory. All you need to do is go to the side of the building and purchase a ticket from the machine, choose your time to go up and then wait until then. They do like... More

Hi, my girls really want to go see the gargoyles from the tower. I have downloaded the app already (we go in 3 weeks) to get online on the day to try to get a morning time slot. Sooo, from reading all the reviews etc. I'm expecting to be knee deep in crowds. My questions therefore are; 1) the app apparently will start taking requests for time slots at 7:30am. We will be arriving into Paris from outside the centre of Paris, is it true the app will only pick up if you are fairly close to the cathedral? 2) If we got to the cathedral around 09:30 without being successful with the app and book a time slot using the machines, can anyone give me an idea of the earliest slots that may be available?? Sorry for the mania, but we'll only be in Paris for one day and have already booked a skip the line ticket for the Eiffel Tower at 12:30 and was really hoping to get to the Notre Dame towers first, if possible. Thanks everyone x

Just go to the cathedral and queue first to get into the cathedral, and then you queue again at the left side to climb up to the tower. Get there early - at 8 a.m. - and you will get to the Eiffel Tower in time for your... More
