If you want to see the real Paris and to avoid all the annoying tourists, then you should avoid this area like the plague.

The 8th arrondisement is a popular zone in Paris. It starts from the Place de Concorde, encompasses all of Champs Elysees up to Arc de Triomphe. To the north up to St. Augustine Church. Certainly you will be in this area a number of times.

Some complain that the 8th Arrondissement including Champs-Elysees has lost some of its charm with the influx of chain stores and restaurants. It's just to agree.

This arrondissement will certainly keep you busy and is probably worth visiting both in the day and night. If you can't do both, I would recommend at night with all the lights everywhere it is truly magical. Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysee, Winston Churchill statue,...More

This district would have to be the best for sights, entertainment, shopping and dining. Always busy and fast paced. Lots of choices for hotels within walking distance to major attractions like Moulin Rouge and the Louvre with access to many and varied restaurants, sidewalk cafes...More

This area is characterized by its namesake avenue
which extends northwest from the Louvre to the modern
business district, punctuated by the iconic Arc de
Triomphe. Grand embassies stand among impressive
offices and presidential palaces; architecture from
19th century Universal Exhibitions, homes, art
galleries, and 19th century streets designed by Baron
Haussmann flank haute-couture boutiques. This
