Great to visit and Terrible for living. Too noisy at night. Too many bars and drunk people. Better and easier to sleep in other areas. Champs Elysees is a classic but don't eat at the avenue, so expensive. Walk 5 minutes away from the avenue...More

So much to see in this district and so close too many Paris landmarks. Loved being close to Champs d'Alysee and also the river.

I feel that the 8th is best represented by the huge La Madeleine church (see separate review) however many reviewers quote other highlights such as Champs-élysées (true) and Arc de Triomphe (on the western border) Either way is is a beautiful arrondissement 1879.

The 8th Arrondissement feels a lot like the heart of Paris. It contains the entirety of the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, the Elysee Palace, as well as museums, gardens, and cultural centers. As a result, this is also one of the wealthier districts...More

One of the most important districts of Paris is absolutely full of monuments. You'll want to come here. But beware that this is a very rich area and is lacking in the charm of other areas.

The 8th Arrondissement was an upscale location in Paris. Everything you would need to make a memorable vacation...Just don't stay at Short Stay Apartments at 40 rue Laborde. That was our only mistake. The location of the apartment is the only good thing I can...More

A lovely district with some well known attractions Including the Champs Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe right through to the Place de la Concorde and the River Seine. A great area to walk in with plenty to see, do, eat and shop.

If your time is short and you prefer to walk than take taxi, it is a convenient area, close to many things you will want to see. Change money on the street at one of the change stores, rather than the hotel for a better...More

Although there are some very exclusive areas in this arrondissement we stayed at a hotel in the 8th but bordering on the 17th and 9th so it was different experience. Less touristy and more of a local neighborhood. A totally different view of this arrondissement.

This area is characterized by its namesake avenue
which extends northwest from the Louvre to the modern

Triomphe. Grand embassies stand among impressive
offices and presidential palaces; architecture from
19th century Universal Exhibitions, homes, art
