Amazing museum! Just incredible what they brought here. One of the most interesting museums of the city. Impossible to be described, you have to come and see.

Paris has so many museums that one like this, which would be the crown jewel in a smaller town, gets overlooked. With full scale plaster casts of the most important monuments in France, reproductions of frescos, glass, etc. and small scale models of the buildings, it was a fantastic visit. Add to that, the best view of the Eiffle tower... More

Showing excellent plaster casts of monuments dating from the 12th to the 18th century from all over France, this museum is well worth a visit if you are not planning to visit all these places. On the upper floor is a (changing) space for models of contemporary architectural models. And its floor-to-ceiling windows give an excellent view of the Eiffel... More

The reproductions of some of the significant monuments and structures in France are superb, the models, as usual in France are amazing and the setting is wonderful. Have lunch in the café with a view of the Eiffel Tower that is a bit different.

I visited the museum since I walked by and had some free time (it's included in the museum pass). The collection is ok. Especially the ideal apartment that is build inside is a nice view on the 60's view on living. The marine museum is right next door, I liked this one more.

I visited the Musee des Monuments Francais using my Paris Museum Pass. Its located right next to the observation area across the street from the Eiffel Tower. I was pleasantly surprised by this museum. It had all the famous monuments replicated so you could walk right up to them. No lines and flash photography friendly, I really enjoyed myself.

The Musee des Monuments Francais is a bright, airy and altogether lovely place to spend a few hours admiring beautifully rendered casts and models of facades, as well as decorations from many of France's most beautiful churches, monuments and other buildings. Not the least of the Museum's appeal is in allowing the visitor to approach so closely and study works... More

We stopped in after a visit to the Trocadero area and were very impressed. Hundreds of building casts, many of them the originals moved to preserve them, on the main floor. Little do some of the Notre Dame visitors realize that original stonework is here & that they are looking at reproductions! Same for the Arc de Triomphe. A sample... More

I did not really know what to expect, but I liked the look of what was on offer and so thought I would have a little poke around, well I emerged 4 hours later still not having seen everything, the lower floor has a vast collection of plaster casts of historic french buildings. The second floor has many recreations of... More

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
