Dark basement bar. small beers @ $ euros with pints at 7 euros. I really like to go on the Balkan nights. Java the Balkan I believe is the name. This happens the last thursday of each month. Show at 8pm. Really fun- band has a great vibe. Nice, large booths to gather in. 5 euros entrance fee.

Went to La Java for the first time on a saturday night without knowing which kind of party it is. Turned out to be a gay theme night (10 euro's entrance) which can be awesome if the music's banging. Unfortunately it was some average techno with the occasional 90's trash-pop elements. They had a nice little show-act consisting of naked... More

The clientele at La Java are slightly different every night, check the website for the type of music or theme night they are having. I went to their Balkan Night which was quite fun - there was a belly dancer, a number of people in the back of the dance floor looked like they were practicing Eastern European/Balkan dance moves... Two friends and I met some people headed to La Java as we were leaving the train station on a Saturday night. As we were walking there, they described it as a typical Paris club with good music and a chill crowd - it's the place where people in Paris who are more middle class would go. We got there,...
