This is one of the several restaurants, bistros and cafés created and/or owned by Frenchman Xavier Denamur, an entrepreneur-restaurateur who brings consciousness in the restaurant business by promoting local production, fair prices and healthy good quality (sometimes but not necessary organic) food. This place is a typical French-Parisian bistrot with good quality food, without pretention neither attitude. Just good and... More

I stumbled upon this place coming from the Picasso museum. It looked like one of those charming Parisian cafes, and I decided to check it out. I sat outside the entire time, just sipping on my wine and people-watching, so I can't tell anything about the atmosphere inside. It was perfect for a laid back afternoon visit, and I think... More

Chose this place as it had some space, but regretted it. Came with wife and daughter and we all chose the lamb 'special'. Food took a while and when it came the potato was cold and lamb just 'ok'.

My wife and I ate here late on a Friday night as not many other places in the area had free tables. The manager and staff seemed friendly enough. Ordered pate to share for a starter, then a salad and the duck for mains. The pate was ok but i've had a lot better. The salad was large and decent... More

I came here a week ago and had an okay cappuccino with some French friends. I came back with my Australian family today and not only were the cappuccinos we were given the worst I've had in all of Paris but the manager tried to rip us off by charging 5E for each. Over 1E more each than I'd paid... More

My brother introduced to me this place a long time ago. The salads are amazing gigantic but very tasty. Try their own special Etoile if you like cheese, avocado, pineapple, pear etc. Fabulous. I always want to go back again.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
