What a lovely surprise

We were staying in the Hotel Neil and found this market at the end of the road. Lots of lovely fresh food - the fruit was fabulous.

Coming down each morning to buy warm croissants and bread from the shop opposite gave us an unforgettable experience in to the way Parisians live. After breakfast we then came down to a bustling market filled with locals buying first rate fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. impressed by the low prices for fresh Duck as well. Along the street filled... More

We visited the Market when we were in Paris. We bought fruit, bread, Pate and other food items for eating in our Hotel room. The food was fresh and great quality. We found everyone very friendly and not rude at all.

The rue Poncelet market has a little bit of everything: locals use it for the freshest and bet produce and luxury items, visitors can sample, and everyone can enjoy the spectacle of an authentic Parisian street market. Occasionally, there is a flea market on Ternes nearby.

We went to the Poncelet Market our first day of arrival. We were too tired to eat out but still wanted a taste of Paris our first day there. We stopped at a store where two brothers run the place and sell meats. We walked in and they totally hooked us by giving us a sample of foie gras! OMG…At... More

We bought a bag of cherry in a fruit shop right in the entrance of this market. Don't buy anything there. The woman who took our cash was shouting at us just because we misunderstood the price. It was a horrible experience. Don't buy fruit in that shop. It was utterly expensive. That woman was incredibly rude. We've never been... More

I have visited this market on many occasions and love looking around at the colourful displays of produce and delicacies. The fishmonger will also travel pack your selfish so you can bring it home. This is my idea of shopping for dinner if I lived in Paris and the setting is like something out of a film. Visit and buy... More

I am in an apartment about 6 blocks from this market. The vendors are helpful with cooking tips, are willing to sell small amounts (food doesn't go to waste) and the produce lasts a long time because it is fresh. Some of the vendors will give you tastes, too, to be sure you get what you like. One has to... More

Wonderful choices for fresh food and already prepared foods, from roasted chicken to stuffed seafood. Cafe Ponce is wonderful, but there are other choices down the street. Before paying for anything double check the tickets, way overcharging tourists is common in France, I'm about to go fight a charge, ripped off by 30%.
