Had read about kouignettes at Georges Larnicol prior to our trip, and they were on my "must find" list. We picked several different flavors to try, and then were enticed by the chocolate, and macaroons. All were excellent. The kouignettes are gooey and buttery and amazing regardless of the flavor you have chosen. The chocolate was also excellent, and not... More

I just love their macaroons (rose <3) and the cashier was so fine, she gave me one to taste for free. 7 euros for 9 macaroons.

Stopped here during my trip to Paris and picked up an array of chocolate, caramels and macarons. You pay by weight and the price seemed reasonable in comparison to other places I saw around the city. The staff members were nice and spoke English!

I especially love their truffles, which have hazelnut flavoring and are velvety delicious! It's especially fun to take a look at all the talented chocolate sculptures they have in their shops.

This shop made me so happy even by only looking it from the outside and inside I got completely crazy! You have a choice of chocolates, macarons and kouignettes with so many different flavours! It is a great place and it is very reasonably priced in comparison with other central parts of Paris. The pumkin spice macaron was sooooooo goood!

We ad dinner at a nearby restuarnat and decided to go into this place for a look and of course we purchased sweets! They are big on "merinque" here but I wanted macaron! Their lemon on was very good. I am told the chocolates were also very good!

I wandered into this shop because I couldn't resist the lovely treats on display. I came away with macarons. Lovely, yummy, macarons. I had previously been to Laduree and was appalled by the pricing. Here however, I could go crazy, even on a budget. I got lemon macarons, raspberry macarons and a pastry I cannot remember the name of (armin?)... More

These small pastry shops are packed with deliciousness. I had never heard of a Kouign Amman until I went to Paris. The staff was helpful and friendly. Plenty of chocolate choices and the self-serve made for fun casual browsing for a non-French speaker.

In Paris, there are infinite options for chocolatiers and patisseries. It's almost impossible to say who is best. Usually, the first one you fall in love with is the best one. I fell for the Kouign Amann of Larnicol. Now Larnicol sells a lot of things: chocolates, pates, caramels, etc. I come here for 3 things: the Nature, chocolat, amande... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
