I always like arriving at the Gare du Nord as it effectively signals one's arrival in the French capital and there is always a real buzz about the place. Some people might be put off by the groups of young soldiers walking round with machine guns casually slung over their shoulders but sadly it's a sign of the times. On... More

I think I've spent too much time at this station. Very busy. It's where the Eurostar arrives and departs. Also a huge terminus for suburban RER so lots of people all the time. Many Metro lines converge here. I like some of the restaurants in the area, especially the Indian and Pakistani ones. It's an important immigrant neighborhood. The station... More

If you travel to Paris on the Eurostar you will visit this rail station. The contrast to the english terminal at St. Pancras could not be greater. It is dirty poorly run etc etc.

Gare Du Nord is a central station in Paris with the best possible connectivity in the city. It has enough food joints , pay for use toilet and Metro /Tram/ and long distance connectivity . You might hear that nearby area is not good, but I would not consider it bad. Decent small hotels nearby as well. Tip : It's... More

The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because of the pay bathrooms. Spent 3hrs on a train and had to use the bathroom to find you need .80 to use it.

sadly, apart from flying, there is very little choice, so far 5 yrs I have been travelling at premium prices with eurostar. Could not be worse. Both lounges at Euston or Gard Du Nord are awful and outside of these rarified environments overcrowded, poor shops.. Seats and compartments are the usual drab and at times overcrowded, Wifi not working, magazine... More

When we got off our train we went to join the queue for a taxi. As we approached the queue we were accosted by someone who told us the queue was for the airports only and we had to go with a driver, who was with him, and he will take us to our destination. This driver told us it... More

Do not even think about arriving early and expecting a seat or anything decent to drink or eat. Stay outside. Very poor, dirty and badly laid out.

I have read quite a few bad reviews of here but I personally do not see it The toilets were clean, the organisation could have been a bit better but was not too bad, and when you went to departures there was plug points. Like what more could you want! There were a few too many beggars in the station... More
