Where should you take a Japanese friend on her first visit to Paris, who is studying and passionate about nutrition, to explain why France is streets ahead of Britain for food? A Parisian street market is a pretty good start and this is perhaps the...More

Wide range on offer, busy but not too crowded and something for everyone. I loved seeing the mushrooms and all the cheeses.

One of the best outdoor markets in Paris. Lots of bio goods. Especially good for fruits and vegies, but there are lots of other things as well. Friendly sellers.

Only open Thursdays and Sundays. Interesting street market. Wish we had skipped breakfast as there is a great choice of prepared food.

This is a market worth visiting, whether you are a local or just visiting. The numerous food offerings are fresh, and the non-food categories are extensive. Note: it helps to know at least a little French, because some vendors will/do not speak English.

Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made
for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming
bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s
at night this area really comes to life. Students and
young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille
and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock
to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait
for coveted tickets during the day. Towards

I got curious about the word la botte and checked Wiktionary. The expression la botte have various meanings and one of them "a bundle (of flowers)".
