Foodies will love Le Foodist. Chef Fred is not only an innovative chef but a walking encyclopedia and inserts fun historical facts about the city and the food into the class. We tried the morning market visit and lunch - 6 hours and Voila, a delicious lunch included\. Highly recommend trying one of the classes offered by #lefoodist

I have taken cooking classes at other venues in Paris, but Le Foodist is definitely my favorite. We were greeted warmly and taken to our "classroom" downstairs. The kitchen was lovely and inviting. Our instructor was knowledgeable and engaging. We immediately set to work on our dough and were guided step by step through what ,I now realize, is a... More

I took the French Market visit/cooking class with Frederick. All I can say is AMAZING! This class was so much fun, and I learned so much. The instructor was full of information and engaging with the group. He walked us through the market and explained everything. I don't speak much french, but he included enough to make it feel like... My husband and I spent two glorious weeks in Paris (Oct. 3-17, 2016) and one of the amazing surprises he gave me was the 5-6 hr cooking class session with Frederick at Le Foodist! Frederick was a great host, fun to hang out with both shopping at the market and in the kitchen! He taught us some great techniques when... More

The French cooking class with market tour was very good and informative. Was fun to accompany the Chef to the market where he purchased fresh seafood, vegetables, cheese and baguette. Chef was very professional yet "down to earth" and easy adapted the menu to accommodate a vegan couple. Food was delicious and I hope to make the dishes again soon.

Incredibly enjoyable class learning how to make croissants in Paris, no less! Amanda was unbelievably patient and informative in showing us the time intensive proper way to make beautiful flaky croissants. The class was well organized and fun! My wife and I were paired with 5 quilters who were a blast to share the class with. Highly recommend this class... More

We (my mom sister and husband) did Le Foodist the second day of a ten day stay in Paris. It was a perfect springboard into Frech food and culture for our trip. Fred was increadibly knowledgeable, personable and energetic. We loved gathering our ingredients from the local open air market all the while learning about French cheeses, produce and politics!... We visited Le Foodist last year and had such a great time that I headed back for two more classes! They are a warm and welcoming bunch. Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
