Wonderful place for a stroll but the park has been badly neglected for years. Visited 5 years ago, still in the same poor condition.
Maybe this is the way Parisians want it?

Ile des Cygnes is an artificial island in the River Seine. It was created in 1827. Three bridges cross the island. There is also a pathway that runs the length of the island. We did not visit it, but only viewed it from the top of the Eiffel Tower.

We walked along here from our accommodation in Javel to see the Eiffel Tower. Walking along the water was easy and not crowded, and beautiful. There is the copy of the Statue of Liberty to see, the exercise area, and all the boats on the river, as the Eiffel Tower gets closer and closer. The island ends on one of the famous bridges with its statue and the metro going over the river.

Metro to Bir Hakim station and then brave the traffic to walk along the bridge to the steps that lead down to this man made island. It was a glorious morning and there was quite a lot of activity. I was surprised by the three wedding groups who were having photographs taken on the small abutment that is one end of the island.

It's a fair walk and I also noticed a few back-packers who had used the benches as an AirB&B. At the Monument end there was mixed use activity. One gentlemen was fishing, another group were using the exercise equipment that was located in a designated zone.

At the end of the Island is the scaled Lady Liberty, a gift or, if you're a Seinfeld fan, a re-gift to France from the United States. It is impressive and though a little off the beaten tourist path, worth a visit. Actually, if you are visiting the Eiffel Tower, it's not that far to walk. The Metro Bir Hakim will take you back into the core,

While in Paris, we had to see the smaller replica of the Statue of Liberty. The walk to the island was beautiful. There is an exercise spot right there too, which was a surprise to see.

What a great place to go for a quiet stroll. You will see many people here eating lunch on the benches or just relaxing during a mid-day break. A good place to find some shade and slow things down a bit looking out over the Seine.

Right in the middle of the river, you will find this charming island. A lovely place to sit on a bench and watch the boats go by. But also the curious feature of a smaller replica of the Statue of Liberty. Accessible by walking over a bridge.

While admiring the view of the Tower from the river, you might notice this replica of the Statue of Liberty installed on this island in the Seine. You can get here by walking on one of the bridges. Very serene.

It is the artificial island where Statue of Liberty (the Paris version) is located. Between the statue and the other end of the island (Pont de Bir-Hakeim) there is a nice alley with many different trees, some of them with tags containing name and info. Near the statue there is also a kind of outdoor gym, free and open to everyone.

The island is great to enjoy nature, to walk, to run, to exercise... I also offers nice views over Pont de Bir-Hakeim and other interesting things.

We approached this island from Pont Mirabeau, which is a ways away, but gives a nice view of the statue of liberty from the front, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Pont Grenelle is closest to the statue, but gives you a view of her backside. The statue is 1/4 size of its counterpart in NY, and the statue is facing west toward NY.
We could see from Pont Mirabeau that there was a peaceful protest under way. The crowd had dissolved by the time we arrived on the island.
We did a lot of walking and accessed the island from the Pont Bir-Hakeim.
It was a blustery fall day, it rained off and on. The leaves looked lovely. It was an exhilarating walk! See photos.
