The museum as such is not big and the art offer not special, what the building has is a wonderful library and a restaurant that I haven't visited unfortunately but it promises to have a good view of the Maison Carre building.

This is a really beautiful building (designed by Norman Foster), worth a visit if only for that ...... but there's much more. An extensive lending library, newspaper and magazine free reading room (with good armchairs), art gallery and museum. If you come to Nîmes, don't miss this place.

Having recently visited the Musee de Grenoble, we found the permanent collection of this Nimes museum rather disappointing. A large work by Gerhard Richter is the most striking work. We were unable to visit the special exhibition at this time, because it hadn't opened yet. The building is very attractive, however, and entry is gratis (at least it was for... More

An interesting space with a good number of traveling exhibit. The snack/bar on the last floor allows you to see the "Maison Carré" from above, which is interesting in itself.

We like to visit this library and art gallery - the art is usually a bit 'whacky' but thought provoking and the current one certainly maintains this standard.... but the salon de the on the top floor overlooking the Maison Carre is a great place to stop for a drink and sit. From on high, you can watch the world... More

Quite a small monument but very interesting to visit and get explanations on its history. Located in the center of the city, good to be done before to go to the arenas

Interesting building with not just art displays but libraries and reading rooms too. Very contemporary art that in the main was a bit of a mystery to me. Worth a short visit

There are many old (and very old) buildings in Nimes so it was refreshing to be in this space. Glass and steel, high ceilings and space. Probably designed by some architect we've never heard of. Credible artworks, not too far out there.

Wonderful to sit up high above the city but the service and value was disappointing. I could be so much better with more attractive pricing and more adventurous offerings.

It was very interesting to see the way Nimes started out, and the consequent building of the walls and arena. Having visited the arena, it was amazing to see it 'come to life' in the film.
