Loved walking through this collection of designs from the early 1800's up to the 1960's. The theme was flowers. I was particularly interested in the stitching and designs of the pieces. They were displayed so well along with shoes, hairclips, handbags.

So glad I followed other reviews from TripAdvisor and tried this little museum. Very friendly and helpful owner, with a display that obviously was given much thought in its curation. The catalogue is a beautifully presented momento too. I'm looking forward to returning for next year's exhibition.

The owner of the museum has a very large collection of clothing items dating back 300 years. Every year, they chose a them (in 2016 it was "Flowers". Terrific display of dresses, hats, shoes, gloves, vests, coats. I would have enjoyed a handout to carry with me to explain more, but it was still worth the price of admission.

This year's collection was called "Black and White" and the clothes, shoes and accessories were in black and white. There was some beautiful rich lace on some of the items. Everything was displayed accompanied by captions from French literature - a delight for those who can read French. Passages from Stendhal, Balzac, Colette, Verlaine and others are printed on cards... It is not more than 4-5 rooms, the museum shows every year one different exhibition - this time it was "Black and White". The house itself, a former cloister is very interesting too.

I've visited this museum twice now and been stunned by the quality of the display and the wonderful venue. This is a private museum created by an inspired collector of costumes. They are beautifully displayed, the building is fascinating and in the oldest part of Albi. The catalogues are beautifully printed and there is even a shop where you can... More

When in Albi, we visited a new museum that only opened its doors to the public on May 10th, 2012 – Le Musée de la Mode. This museum in a beautifully restored building (previously the Convent des Annonciades, built between the XIII and XVII century) is the end result of years of dedication and hard work by its owner, Dominique...
