The caves are stunning. I wish we had a way to do a grand 5-7 hour tour. But we loved what we saw. BUT, the lack of clear organization may be off-putting to some tourists. The signage is almost incomprehensible to begin with and the website is nuts. The supposedly English tour was in French. The tractor disguised as a... More

with our 7 year old we have visited the caves of Lombrives. We took the little red train to the caves. This was already big score for our little girl. But than the caves... spectacular. We all loved it and also our daughter. She constantly asked us to translate what the guide was saying: she was so interested in everything.... More

Just the views on the walk up to the cave entrance (not essential, you can take the train) are worth the entrance money - mountains, villages, rivers - just great. The basic 2 hour visit requires a bit of stamina, although there were some small children in our group who managed ok. You walk several kilometres through different caves, see... More

the chambers are very wide. It's impressive. There are no paintings but to see the beautifum chambers is very well worth getting up there.

Grotte de Lombrives is very impressive, huge cave system with geological specialties and ancient graffiti testifying the live of the past 400 Pyrenean generations - Principally a fantastic and very unique framework that is definitely recommended. However, after 2.5 hours of listening the guide explaining the wonders and specialties of the cave in French to the 6 French visitors, the... More

Took the ninety minute tour with a very knowledgeable guide who understandably led the tour in French but then took plenty of time to explain in English. Very impressive caves and would have taken longer tour if time had permitted. Take a fleece as gets a little chilly after a while. Shorts ok to wear though. We walked to the... More

Visited here with my young family. Facilities are basic and there is quite a trek to the opening if you choose not to take the train. Although the caves are amazing they could be so much better given a little more investment. The guides speak a lot in French which then translates into about 10 words of English! I would... More

Having not seen this famous cave In any guide books or local information we were apprehensive but thought being the largest cave in Europe it was worth a visit. We got there at 2pm to an empty shed and a notice saying the Spanish and English tour was at 5pm so headed to the Parc Prehistoric to get rid of... More
