We visited the Lille Christmas Market, and my wife wanted to do some shopping in advance. Although this is the far side of Lille coming from the Channel Tunnel, it is worth it. SatNav got slightly confused and plenty of bus only streets but worth finding it. Actually right next to the train station so that's a plus! Ther eis... More

Depending on your reason for visiting Lille and your experience of France this shopping complex including 'Carrefour' is well worth a visit. The 'average' score has been given based on what you would find in the rest of France. The Carrefour is huge and sells everything from fridges to clothes, pegs and as a result some of the goods on sale... More

Wow.. I have visited 100's, 1000's, 100000's of supermarkets in my lifetime I imagine. I have never reviewed one.. I mean you arrive, get your stuff, pay and leave! I had to review this hell hole. Like many we was on a Eurostar break from London spending a couple of nights in Lille. On the way back to the station... More

Yes there are bargains, but check what you are buying. Some of the staff are lovely and others are highly unpleasant. Plus there are usually long lines.

A standard chain in every sense of the word. You know what you're getting in Carrefour, it's like our Tesco. They have big Carrefours and little Carrefours and your heart lifts when you spot one. Whatever you want Carrefour can provide it and it'll be fresh too and at a sensible price.

Lots and lots of shops to go nuts, Carrefour was as described by others had narrow aisles and a few rude shoppers. Nonetheless an experience. Would recommend shopping there.

Sorry folks but upstairs was hit and miss and on a Saturday only one person on the till with a queue 30+ deep, I'd lost the will just before we were served and if I hadn't wanted frozen in french I would have dumped the basket and made a sharp exit. It's was May 2012 when my wife and last visited Carrefour de Lille, and it had changed quite a bit, GONE was the tank housing the live Crustacians !! which pleased me as i thought it was rather a cruel thing to witness in a well known Hypermarket. My visit was mainly to stock up on Pate's and Chacuterie and... More
